[Jecht wakes up out of the horrible Soviet nightmare, seeming pleased enough to be back in Mayfield. At least this prison is a little more pleasant. He's still got his scars from working at the factory, but they're not really getting in his way all that much. Yawning and stretching, he heads outside to check the mail, tossing all the bills in the garbage like he usually does. One letter does catch his eye, though, and he opens it up. Inside is a picture of him, covered in the scars he gained in Spira while protecting Lord Braska on his Pilgrimage. As soon as he picks up the photo, those same scars all painfully tear their way across his body, bleeding a bit before sealing themselves back up. There is a sharp but brief cry of pain from Jecht, quickly suppressed as he falls to one knee. He sneers, looking down at the picture and laughing.]
"...Yeah, that's real goddamn cute, Mayfield. Nice to see you too."

[He actually doesn't challenge that. In fact, he seems to believe what you're saying right off the bat.]
So you guys killed this Sin thing then?

[His voice, how it drips with bile.]

And, when he's done with that, he's going to try and go into your backyard so he can map that too.]

Slowly, he comes back to the front yard and stands there minute, rubbing his eyes. Okay. When he goes back things are going to be normal.]

it's a beach.]
What the hell is this?

"Just what it looks like, kid. A beach."

How'd you get a friggin' beach here, mister? I mean, it musta took you a long time, getting rid of the grass and replacing it with sand not to mention the friggin' work on the terrain itself...

[Points over at the fence and the water's edge.]
"We reinforced the fence to hold it all in, and then filled the yard up with sand. The water there's actually just an above-ground pool I bought with sand piled up high enough around it that it looks like a real beach. Friend of mine came up with the idea."

[He sounds more amused and interested than anything. ...And a little jealous. He's unsure he'd ever have gotten that idea.]
That's friggin' awesome, mister. It cost a lot?

Wait.
It never rains. Ever? So...how do they keep all the plants alive? Just constantly running sprinklers and crap?

[That last word comes out of his mouth like it's far dirtier than any of the curses he's been casually slinging about.]

[Complete sincerity there.]

Can't see us running short on those any time soon, if it keeps up at this rate.
