[Jecht wakes up out of the horrible Soviet nightmare, seeming pleased enough to be back in Mayfield.  At least this prison is a little more pleasant.  He's still got his scars from working at the factory, but they're not really getting in his way all that much.  Yawning and stretching, he heads outside to check the mail, tossing all the bills in the garbage like he usually does.  One letter does catch his eye, though, and he opens it up.  Inside is a picture of him, covered in the scars he gained in Spira while protecting Lord Braska on his Pilgrimage.  As soon as he picks up the photo, those same scars all painfully tear their way across his body, bleeding a bit before sealing themselves back up.  There is a sharp but brief cry of pain from Jecht, quickly suppressed as he falls to one knee.  He sneers, looking down at the picture and laughing.]

"...Yeah, that's real goddamn cute, Mayfield.  Nice to see you too."

Spent about a week's pay on all the sand, plus some money from a couple other people who liked the idea. It's been pretty popular, 'specially since there's no actual beaches to go to anywhere around here.

Soccer coach over at the high school. I just teach whatever I feel like, though, so I turned it into a blitzball team instead.

Blitzball is a real man's sport. I dunno what any of these games are, but people keep tellin' me it's like football, rugby, and soccer combined, except you play it underwater.

Sure. What's a sport without a crowd to watch and cheer? Boring, that's what. We practice at the high school's outdoor pool. It never rains here, so we're there damn near every day.
