"Blitzball team roster's posted over at the pool.  Everybody who tried out made it.  Norway, don't forget what I said the other day.  And Zidane, Garnet, Chouno, and Touma - you guys are on the team too, so you better start showin' up for practice after school.  In fact, we're gonna have a team meeting this weekend to talk about a couple things."

"Okay, here's the deal.  We got 11 people for this thing now.  A full blitz team has 6 people on it - three on offense, two on defense, and a goalie.  With me playin', there's enough for two full teams.  First time ever.  So we're gonna have an exhibition match after a few weeks of fall training.  Everybody figure out what positions you wanna play and start practicing with each other.  I'll fill in wherever - I've done all this before anyway."

[Glances around at the assembled students and grins.]

"Anybody who doesn't know the rules or how to play, ask Crowe or Seychelles.  They've been around the longest.  (OOC: The mun's tired of typing it all up, so assume this convo occurs for expediency's sake.)  But I wanna add just one more rule.  This is more for off the field.  You're teammates now, so I'm expectin' you all to watch each others' backs.  There's some sick bastards runnin' around this town, and it's only gettin' worse by the day.  If one person gets hurt, the whole team suffers for it.  So... keep each other safe.  And I'll fight like hell for that same reason, too.  Somebody fucks with one of us, they fuck with all of us.  That's how it's gonna be around here.  Anybody got a problem with that, speak up now."

What is the hardest position to play?

...Probably center. You'd be responsible for scorin' most of the goals, so you gotta be fast enough to move the ball, strong enough to kick it past the goalie, and tough enough to take a few lumps when the other team's defense tries to tackle you.

[Thankfully, Jecht doesn't really care about anyone's reasons for joining the blitzball team. His standards have gone down a lot since he first got here, and he's had a bitch of a time just getting enough players for two teams. If Chouno shows any kind of skill whatsoever, he'll probably be pretty happy with it.]
